The current flag of Libya was adopted in 1951 following the creation of the Kingdom of Libya. After the kingdom fell due to an uprising won by Muammar Gaddafi, the flag fell out of use but is now back in circulation since 2011.

The flag has a white strip on the side with two metal eyelets.
