Officially adopted in 2002, the Flag of Bahrain features two serrated strips. Initially the flag was all red but later the white strip was added after a treaty with Britain to help distinguish their ships from pirates. The five points represent the five pillars of Islam.

The flag has a white strip on the side with two metal eyelets.
