The Germans seem to have set a standard as their southern Austrian counterpart have copied their successful design. The mess kit breaks down into 3 parts and with a convenient carrying handle. Another similar sized tin slots into the large main section providing 3 different vessels for cooking. Can't go past a successful robust military design, ideal for campers eating out in the wild.

    Open Firing Cooking/Quick & Easy.

    Brought this set for my son (10yrs). If you have a young fella then you'd know from the age of around 7 they eat like a horse, my boy is a bottomless pit so he preps and cooks his own meals now.

    I got him this kit to make a bulk feed at night and chow down on the left overs in the morning.

    Good heat distribution, the paint (what I assume is anodized) has shown no wear/peeling or anything.

    Light weight and versatile. Haven't tried it on alcohol or butane flames yet, probably wont...but it can stand open flames no worries.

    I like the additional bowl which serves as an extra plate or even cup for liquids.
